McAfee - IDPS

Commissioned Eyekandy to produce a lovely b2c video, for a given target audience, informing them about their new tool: IDPS.
In charge of this project, I had to learn the ins and outs of the service first, before creating a storyboard for the video we were about to produce.

Storyboarding the first draft using Miro boards, I decided to split the video into 4 parts.
Keeping in mind the ''Free to be'' campaign they were already running.

Refining the catchphrases with the various stakeholders, they were overall delighted by the intended flow of the video, its organization and the information displayed.

But McAfee found it a little ''busy''. Due to the gradient. And asked to try using their dark grey as a background.
Which was an easy thing to change.

A quick mockup later, we were back on track.
On point, on brand, and succinct enough so the targeted audience would watch it fully and remember about IDPS.

We were then awaiting the green light from the client to start production.

But here came the twist.. McAfee's brand team decided to pull off their new brand guidelines as a competitor (Avast) went for a very similar gradient look and released it right before them.
McAfee, therefore, decided to put our project on hold... And a few weeks later, we received the new guidelines.

To reduce production costs and as the storyboard remained essentially the very same, we decided to directly create the various artworks (Bellow), ready for the dynamic texts and production hand-over.
This fast-tracked the process for the video production team as w
e used our go-to 2D production house called Dynomite. Their quick turnaround allowed us a few rounds of feedback for refinement.
We then shipped the video to McAfee which approved it right off the bat.
The final video is the one you saw at the top of this page.

If you ask me, that new identity is stunning and McAfee did well to change it all at the last minute.

Even with this unexpected change, this project remained on budget and only had a slight delay in delivery.
