Holiday Inn Express.
Was about re-designing the entire brand's interior design, on a global level.
And working on the new interior design of the room and lobby for Holiday Inn Express was a mind-blowing experience.
Collaborating closely with Henry Reeve, Forpeople's associate director who then became Head of Design for IHG following the success of this re-design, we started to draft the concept and kept refining it.

Applying the concept to an existing Holiday Inn Express hotel in Park Royal, which would be the first to receive the new look we were developing.
The CMF team was highly involved throughout the entire process and drove us toward vibrant colors, comfy and cocoony, by using lots of felt, fabrics, and inviting rugs.

With my technical knowledge, I quickly understood the time frame I was budgeted for would allow me to innovate a little. And I asked my line manager to get me the software Panotour in order to create a virtual visit.

VR proved very useful to push this concept forward.
This was a first at Forpeople back then and became the company's standard process for Interior design presentations, winning us countless pitches.
Involving further the Graphic Design team, we refined the concept, logos, signs, graphics,.. And rendered it all out to make it look as close as possible to reality before it was ever built.
Below are a few pictures of the built space from Park Royal, so you can appreciate how close we were.

These guidelines were very well received worldwide and a lot of Holiday Inn Express use them fully, or partially.
Check it out when you go there next time!
